NEXUS Industrial Precinct set to become a major manufacturing, transport and logistics hub for the region.

Primed for further growth, infrastructure works continue to take shape at NEXUS, with the 450-hectare site at Ettamogah set to become a major manufacturing, transport and logistics hub for the region.

Once fully developed, NEXUS is expected to deliver more than $1.5B annually in gross regional product for the economy and create an estimated 9,400 jobs over the next 30 years.

Identified as a Regional Jobs Precinct by the NSW Government in 2020, there has been significant progress made towards the development of the precinct in 2020/21 including completion of gas, water, sewer and nbn infrastructure. The Davey Road Interchange southern facing ramps commenced construction in December 2020, enhancing the connection of NEXUS to the Hume Freeway. The ramps are due for completion by the end of 2021.

Construction of the Circular Plastics manufacturing facility within Stage 1 of NEXUS commenced in February 2021. The $45M Circular Plastics plant (a joint venture comprising of Cleanaway, Pact Group and Asahi Beverages) will recycle the equivalent of one billion plastic PET bottles every year, creating hundreds of direct and indirect jobs while also enhancing Albury’s role as a major centre of sustainability and recycling.

The NSW Government is contributing $9.9 million to the critical infrastructure works at NEXUS as part of the Growing Local Economies Regional Growth Fund. This is in addition to funding from AlburyCity and $7.9 million from the Australian Government for the Davey Road Interchange.

Through detailed planning and outstanding partnerships between governments and industry, the continual site upgrades help ensure that investors are increasingly attracted to NEXUS, with ample opportunity to establish or expand their operations.
