Funding into the future

Frank Zaknich and Mark Dixon discuss potential business opportunities now available because of recent city improvements in Albury Wodonga.

Albury and Wodonga have had a number of Government funding boosts for our cities, including the funding for the gas gate at Logic and the finalisation of NEXUS infrastructure, including construction of the Davey Rd Interchange which has now commenced.

Funding, such as these, helps to build confidence and improve the economic lookout. It also increases the potential of people wanting to invest, live and create jobs here.

Earlier this year, the Victorian Government announced $2.6 million in funding for a gas gate at Logic.

The gas gate will allow the precinct to tap into the main gas line which runs through Logic and provide high-pressure, consistent gas for industries who require it. The full project cost is expected to be about $5.5 million and should be finalised by the end of 2021.

In Albury, as part of the NEXUS Industrial Precinct upgrade, site preparation works for the construction of the Davey Rd Interchange have now commenced. The $15.8 million project will be delivered thanks to the NSW and Australian Governments following AlburyCity's sustained advocacy efforts to secure the funding. The interchange is expected to be finalised by December 2021.

The highly anticipated works involve building a northbound off-ramp and southbound on-ramp at Davey Rd which will enable freight and logistics businesses greater access to the NEXUS Industrial Precinct.

These enabling projects will further enhance the region's industrial offering and cater for our growing population, stimulate the economy and provide opportunities for businesses.

We look forward to welcoming you to our cities soon.
