Economic growth, an expanding population and the creation of job opportunities now and into the future brings enormous benefits to our region-wide economy.
Some of Australia’s most famous and successful manufacturers have recently set up in our region. With manufacturing and regional development in high demand, investors continue to expand their capabilities, with increased connectivity, competitive land prices and skilled workforces.
Located on the Hume Freeway and along the Inland Rail Corridor, Albury Wodonga is an ideal location to establish manufacturing operations. NEXUS Industrial Precinct and Logic Wodonga offer quality industrial land at competitive prices for new and expanding manufacturers.
NEXUS is expected to deliver more than $1.5B annually in gross regional product for the economy and creating an estimated 9,400 jobs over the next 30 years. Logic covers an area of 567 hectares, with $180 million in investment to date with a focus on manufacturing, transport and logistics.
75% of Australia’s population can be accessed within 24 hours, which partly explains why the manufacturing sector in Albury Wodonga is the most productive, outputting $3.23 billion per year (REMPLAN 2019). The sector employs 4,227 people (REMPLAN 2019) drawing on a stable workforce and regional population of more than 180,000.
Two Universities and two TAFE campuses also provide higher education and technical training in the region, equipping businesses with a highly educated workforce with a quarter of the population educated to University/TAFE level.
With existing manufacturing capabilities in automation, steel fabrication, recycled plastics, defence products, geosynthetics and more, Albury Wodonga is strongly positioned to remain competitive in the national and global manufacturing landscape.
We look forward to welcoming you to our cities soon.
